De fem bruksbyarna

The five ironworks villages

Strömsdal, Gravendal, Annefors, Ulriksberg and Tyfors are located round Säfsen and all date from the 18th century when the ironworks, foundries, hammers and metal workshops were founded.

Today Fredriksberg is the chief town with approx 800 inhabitants. Go for a "village walk" in the five ironworks villages. Each village has signposted footpaths with permanent information about the district.
